Taito announces a new Darius compilation

The Japanese company will release for PS4 a pack that includes G-Darius and Y DariusBurst EX, entering the era of polygons

Just a few days after reviewing the trajectory of the saga through the two compilations for PS4 and Switch that have reached the western market, Taito has announced a new compilation called Cozmic Revelation that will explore the entry of the shoot’em up in 3D to via G-Darius and Darius Burst Ex +, which is coming to the end of the year for Switch and PS4, as well as the recently released ones.

G-Darius was the most baffling omission from the previous pack, being considered one of the greats of the genre and a reference in the dean saga. In the aforementioned report, we already questioned the way in which Taito had approached these compilations, with high prices and an excessive interest in compartmentalizing fragments of a saga that could be perfectly collected from a tacada. But it is clear that it is a specific product for a specialist audience and the idea seems to be that they pay a premium for it, something that they partially compensate with the hiring of M2 for the conversion work and the resources necessary to do a job of height and respectful with the different ways of viewing retro games on current televisions.

An essential shoot’em up

Taito announces a new Darius compilation

In any case, its appearance alongside that of the (impressive) DariusBurst arcade is still good news for lovers of the saga and shoot’em up in general. The big question is what does that “HD” entail in G-Darius and the extras that we can expect or to what extent will the graphic section be touched to justify the conversion. Also curious is the “+” of DariusBurst, but with the information we have there is not much to speculate on. It would also be nice to know if they are the only bets or it is possible that Taito will surprise us in the form of some other Darius who has been lost, although seeing the remaining candidates it is unlikely that he will offer us the Super Darius of PC Engine , which would be very interesting.
