Task Force Kampas, the matamarcianos maño, will arrive at consoles on May 6

The first game from the Spanish studio Casiopea, based in Zaragoza, is a shoot'em up that will arrive on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch this May.

The very young Spanish studio Casiopea is already wearing its best clothes for the imminent console release of its first video game, Task Force Kampas. The developer has announced that the title will go on sale on May 6 on PS4 and Xbox One, and a few days later, on the 14th, on Nintendo Switch. The game, which they define as "a space-shooter set in space with an emphasis on game feel and music," was released in February last year on itch.io, a platform on which it has collected very good comments. Now thanks to the collaboration of Eastasiasoft, which will serve as a distributor, the title will make the leap to the big leagues.

Although Casiopea is only made up of four developers based in Zaragoza (Pablo Checa, Víctor Carnicer, Nacho Artigas and Paula García), Task Force Kampas has continued to stand out and draw attention to where it has been. The title even won the award for best soundtrack at the recent Valencia Indie Summit. (A soundtrack that, by the way, you can listen to in full from here). His story puts us in the shoes of a team of outcasts who, without really knowing how, are forced to collaborate and save the universe from a wicked extraterrestrial invasion. The game is a tribute to the Golden Age of Japanese shoot 'em up, and features randomly generated levels, handcrafted bosses, and an endless way to test ourselves and see what score we achieve.

We leave you with his new trailer and, if you want to take a look at more images (and hypnotic gifs) of Task Force Kampas, we advise you to visit the game page itself. As we said, the title will arrive on May 6 to PS4 and Xbox One, and on May 14 to Nintendo Switch.
