In the field of video games, Steam has offered significant discounts on the games in the series to commemorate this day. Meanwhile, Star Wars Battlefront was updated on May 1 to implement online features on the PC version, as announced by the Valve store. This is the original 2004 title, a franchise that was later rescued by Electronic Arts and EA DICE, authors of the two most recent Battlefront.
The original production was developed by Pandemic Studios, which also handled the sequel, both for the PS2, Xbox, and GameCube generation. The studio was acquired by Electronic Arts years ago, but its time with the American giant did not materialize. After publishing The Lord of the Rings: Conquest and The Saboteur, EA made the decision to close the studio.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 completes its upgrade plan
After more than two years in the market, EA DICE has officially announced that it will not continue adding new content to Star Wars Battlefront 2. The video game went on sale in late 2017 in a climate plagued by criticism due to the controversy of the loot boxes, which motivated a change in internal strategy within the company itself. Since then, the studio has fed all kinds of news to the game and has reviewed the entire Skywalker saga and spin-offs such as Rogue One or Han Solo. Following the release of The Battle of Scarif, they will focus on temporary events.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game is focused on its multiplayer modes, but includes a campaign that is integrated within the new Disney canon.
