The Polish company does not specify whether it is already working on a project for the new consoles, although it does not close any doors.

The new CD Projekt RED, Cyberpunk 2077, has already entered its final stage of development. This was announced by the study when presenting the corresponding financial results with the third quarter of fiscal year 2019. As usual in these cases, shareholders ask about future issues. Given the premiere of PS5 and Xbox Scarlett in late 2020, the Poles have talked about the new generation of consoles and the position of CD Projekt RED in this regard.

The study has stated that "of course" they are aware of what lies ahead with the new PlayStation and Xbox: "We are observing the situation closely, so some probably assume that we will do something for the new generation at some specific time," the developers reflect. “However, we cannot specify what it will be or when it could be”

Cyberpunk 2077 is not currently planned for the new generation. In fact, CD Projekt Red has shown to be sure that during the launch of the new consoles they will not have prepared any video game. And they continue: “Our games have always gone ahead of technology. They always play better on powerful computers, so in many areas, we are prepared or almost ready to address higher specifications. From a technical perspective, it seems possible to do so, ”they conclude.

More refined technology

The developers recently shared some peculiarities about the technology used in the video game. Resources have been optimized to make loads much faster than in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This has been achieved thanks to certain procedural elements that have been implemented in the video game. In addition, they have been working in ray-tracing for years, which will benefit their light system.

Cyberpunk 2077 is in development for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Its launch is scheduled for April 16. The version of Google Stadia has no date, although the report suggests that it will not be published at the same time as the other versions.
