The creators of Rainbow Six Siege embark on a new project

Ubisoft details that the Rainbow Six Siege development team leaves the game to focus on other, still unknown, projects.

Ubisoft has announced, through a video on its official YouTube channel, that the core of the Rainbow Six Siege development team leaves the game to focus on other projects. The creative director, Xavier Marquis, and the director of the brand, Alexandre Remy, are taking some members of the Siege team to a new adventure. We still do not have many details about this new project, but we do have the official statements of the team after its departure.

“A new project”

Marquis and Remy have been Siege's face since the beginning of the franchise. It was those who helped bring to light the initial version and who turned the game into what it is today. Much of the game development team has not changed throughout this time and the game's director, Leroy Athanassoff, continues to lead the team's efforts. Leaders who leave the core of the team have not suggested what they intend to do next, but they have ensured that their presence in the team is no longer necessary for their success.

"There was a time during which the game depended heavily on us, during its genesis, at the beginning," says Marquis. “But now the game has an extra piece. It's a kind of sphere, there's the game and its community. "

Athanassoff adds that the new core team is expanding the game's universe and working on building more "inclusive" content and features that benefit all players. "We said it before and we will say it again: Rainbow Six Siege is here to stay," adds Craig Robinson, senior community developer.

“Leroy and the new core team have learned a lot from Alex, Xavier and the rest. Leroy has a vision for the future of Rainbow Six Siege that everyone in the studio is very excited. ”

For all this, we will have to wait to see the mysterious project in which the mentioned developers of Rainbow Six Siege will go to work. For now, we know that the development of the title is in good hands and that they will continue adding new content updates.
