Warner Bros. confirms that they intend to bring one of the darkest characters in DC comics to the small screen; no actor or release date yet.
John Constantine, the dark character from DC Comics, will have his own series on HBO Max. This has been confirmed by media such as Variety or Deadline, ensuring that Bad Robot, the producer of filmmaker J.J. Abrams will be in charge of adapting Hellblazer’s demonic stories for the small screen. Of course, at the moment there is no confirmed actor for the leading role or approximate release date.

And it is that months ago the production of a new series of the Dark Justice League for HBO Max was announced by J.J. Abrams; in this case, its producer Bad Robot will be in charge of making this reboot a reality, which in principle will not be related to previous interpretations of the character both in film and on television.
Recall that John Constantine made his film debut in the hands of Keanu Reeves back in 2005, while the most recent adaptation of the character is in charge of Matt Ryan for the NCB with some appearances in The CW series. At the moment there is no news about the actor who plays Constantine in the new series, although in principle it is a reboot and it would not have either of the two actors from the past.
So much so, that it seems that the producer is looking for a young Londoner for the role, with the idea of signing a twenty-something actor to play this new Constantine, with an eye on Riz Ahmed. At the moment, the script for the pilot episode has already been written by screenwriter Guy Bolton, while it is planned that new writers will be hired to continue writing the following episodes.
According to Variety, the intention is to enhance the horror elements of the original Hellblazer comic; According to rumors, the new Constantine could be directly related to the other series in the house run by J.J. Abrams, that is, the Justice League Dark.
