Although ‘The Division 2’ is also supported in the Games-as-a-Service model, Ubisoft currently does not provide for any further porting of the MMO shooter to the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Although it is obvious that the current games will be implemented again for the new consoles, as Ubisoft has already indicated for Rainbow Six Siege, this will not be the case with The Division 2, even if the new consoles do will be available.
You could find that out in an interview with Associate Creative Director, Yannick Banchereau, who was asked how the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X will affect The Division 2. The focus is therefore on the current versions and to support them as best as possible.
"We don't want to port it to new platforms," Banchereau said. “What I can say is that we are not creating a special version for these consoles. We are very focused on working only on what we have now and doing it as best we can. ”
However, you don't have to go without The Division 2 for PS5 and Xbox Series X, as the game will likely be available through backward compatibility.
