The change of date of the long-awaited Square Enix title forces the exclusivity contract with Sony PlayStation to also extend for a few weeks.
The delay of Final Fantasy VII Remake on PlayStation 4 next April will also affect the condition of exclusivity that narrows the Square Enix title with Sony Computer Entertainment. As we learned in December, the game was only available on the Japanese platform until March 3, 2021; from then on, you can see the light in other systems. Now, that date has changed.
The source of the information is the cover of the game itself, which has been forcedly updated because of this circumstance. The PlayStation exclusivity contract is exactly twelve months, so Sony can keep the “PlayStation Exclusive” label until April 10, 2021, as indicated in the lower right corner of the new cover image of the video game.
The situation, although predictable, was not confirmed; Now it is.

Square Enix has not announced its future plans with Final Fantasy VII Remake
Meanwhile, Square Enix has not said anything about an eventual version of Final Fantasy VII Remake on systems such as Xbox One, the future Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch or PC.
Something similar happened with Kojima Productions and Death Stranding. The game, exclusive – on consoles – for PS4, confirmed its PC release from another publisher, 505 Games, on October 28, 2019; before the title went on sale in the Japanese desktop. This planning is still underway, since Death Stranding will be launched on a computer in the summer of 2020, when it will not have been a year since its release on PS4.
Final Fantasy VII Remake will go on sale in physical and digital format for PS4 on April 10, 2020. Yoshinori Kitase, producer of the saga, explained the reason for this delay: “To make sure we launch a game completely online With our vision and the quality that fans expect and deserve, we have decided to delay the departure date. (…) To finish polishing the game and introduce you to the best possible experience ”.
