The Indies on Nintendo Switch: What are the best-selling games of 2020?

The Japanese company hangs an official video of Indie World to uncover which are the independent titles that have worked best on the platform.

Indie games (and just about everyone else) have found a cozy home on the Nintendo Switch, a console that has been around for more than three years now and has proven to be a veritable gold mine. The Kyoto hybrid system has given shelter to many indie-style titles, to the point that Nintendo often offers its own Nintendo Directs focused on these products from time to time. Through an official Indie World video, the Japanese have revealed which are the indie video games that have sold the most in 2020. Do you want to know what they are? Inside ready!

These are the best-selling indie games of 2020

  • Hades
  • Streets of Rage 4
  • Spiritfarer
  • Moving out
  • Ori and the Will of the Wisps
  • Carrion
  • What the Golf?
  • Shantae and the Seven Sirens
  • Super Mega Baseball 3
  • Superliminal
  • Jackbox Party Pack 7
  • Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin
  • Kentucky Route Zero
  • Crosscode
  • Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2
  • Neon Abyss

Hades has crept into many players’ best games of the year lists. The SuperGiant Games title, nominated for GOTY at The Game Awards 2020, is a roguelike that combines an electric combat system with an interesting story, all under the premise of a genre that follows its main guidelines, that is, offering a challenge and feed a procedural type design. The list also does not lack great games like Streets of Rage 4, a sequel to one of the most successful beat ’em up sagas, as well as Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Surprises of the stature of Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin or Spiritfarer (two real sleepers this year) have also managed to gain a foothold.
