The Last of Us: confirmed the director of the first chapter of the series

Emmy winner Johan Renck for his work in Chernobyl will direct the first episode of this HBO television production.

Johan Renck, winner of 5 Emmy Awards for his contribution in directing work in Chernobyl, will be the director of the first episode of the television series The Last of Us for the British HBO. He himself has been responsible for confirming the information in a meeting with Discussing Film, where he also anticipates that he will be executive producer.

Although he has only confirmed his role as director for the pilot episode, he does not rule out doing the same in more chapters. “I am the executive producer and I am involved in the project. It is an ongoing television series, ”he begins by saying. “So it’s not something I can take during such an extension, but I’m part of the series and I’m going to direct at least the pilot episode. So we’ll see how things progress, “he continues. Everything will depend on how the conversations flow with his colleague Craig Mazin, creator of the aforementioned Chernobyl, also broadcast during last 2019 on HBO.
