The Naughty Dog video game is seen in a new clip of just a few seconds where the Californian study shows the state of the game.
Naughty Dog continues working on The Last of Us Part 2. The title, which is planned for this month of May exclusively for PlayStation 4, has been revealed in a new short clip that shows the improvements in animations and dynamism of the stages with Ellie as the protagonist.
The main reason for the delay in the game, initially planned to arrive in stores this past February, was to be able to work further on details of polish in its gameplay and, ultimately, to guarantee that the quality levels reached the estimated standards in a production like this.
FreeGameTips was able to test last September a demo lasting several hours where, meanwhile, we were going through that scenario; a small section where we had to look around us until we found the way forward. A brief puzzle that, although it was not a challenge, did show the intention of the sequel to implement a more vertical advance, with nooks and crannies and added problems.
In The Last of Us Part II, Ellie is more agile in combat and when exploring the world, allowing us to introduce new verticality and discoverable areas to environments as you climb and jump over obstacles. pic.twitter.com/n9bwpXLB9q

How The Last of Us Part 2 Is Cheering Up
Also, in this clip we can see the reaction of the scene to the impact of Ellie when she jumps to the other truck. The nine features more detailed animations than before. Almudena Soria, lead animator at Naughty Dog, spoke to FreeGameTips about the animation process for all characters and settings. The team, located at two locations in California, has a total of 40 workers (one in Santa Monica and one in San Diego).
"We are still working on it," he said of Ellie, the protagonist of the title. "It can run, jump, climb, craft … it does everything, we cannot stop working on it to achieve the result we are looking for." Beyond that, they are worrying about non-verbal language: "Everything we do in the animation team must be able to tell you what is happening at each moment", something we will see in the relationship established between Ellie and Dyne.
Neil Druckmann, creative director of the game, this week praised the animation team for The Last of Us Part 2, a message that has been avoided commenting on accusations made by former employees of having been subjected to crunch (labor exploitation) during long periods since the time of Uncharted 4.
The Last of Us Part 2 will be released on May 29 exclusively for PlayStation 4. The production of the recently announced HBO series will not begin production until the title is released.
