The North American developer, who has not yet responded to the accusations, will publish the video game on June 19.
Within hours of the premiere of The Last of Us Part 2 movie trailer, Naughty Dog has been singled out. Composer and singer Lotte Kestner has reported on Twitter that the studio has allegedly used one of her arrangements for a cover that she voiced and modified with her own arrangements. “Do you realize that the cover of True Faith that you have put in your trailer for The Last of Us Part 2 is a replica of my cover, which came out 10 years ago?” Asks the artist Neil Druckmann, director of the video game , and the official Naughty Dog account.
According to him, he wrote unpublished parts that were not in the original theme and that “have been copied,” he says, by the person who made the cover. “I am devastated,” she confesses. The artist responds later with another tweet in which she shows the theme and the exact minute in which both themes sound similar. For the moment, no one from Naughty Dog has come out on top of the accusations, so we will have to wait to see if there is any kind of movement on the part of the studio.
@Neil_Druckmann @Naughty_Dog hey are you aware that the true faith cover you put in your last of us 2 trailer is a replica of my cover that came out 10 yrs ago? I wrote original parts not in the original song that are copied exactly by whoever covered it. I am heartbroken.
