The Last of Us: Part II, video Reviews

The Last of Us: Part II, video analysis

We analyze on video everything that is the latest installment of Naughty Dog, one of the most relevant PS4 games.

Seven years of waiting, friends of FreeGameTips. A whole generation since that title that left us all in love: the adventure of Joel and Ellie, the adventure of Ellie and Joel. A story that was built based on the learning, love and trust of both to survive in a society agitated by the happy cordyceps. Now, coincidentally or not, The Last of Us Part 2 is coming to PS4 as well to put an end to a generation of success on the PlayStation landscape; to put the finishing touch to a cycle where we can already assure you the trip has been worth it.

The Last of Us Part 2 is a qualitative and quantitative leap for what is already a saga. A journey awaits us with a very different message: revenge, thirst for retaliation and, in a way, redemption. Ellie is the great protagonist; now 19 years old. Five have passed since the events of the first part and she lives quietly in Jackson, Wyoming. However, something terrible happens and … the journey begins. Put on your belt, because there are curves.

We did not expect these improvements in the playable plane, we have to be honest: a more agile game at the controls, which has significantly improved hand-to-hand combat and which proposes a much more vertical, more open scenario design that invites exploration . It is full of secrets! We can complete each phase in a multitude of ways. Do you prefer stealth? Naughty Dog has done a great job. Do you prefer some more action? Take the bow or weapon of your choice, improve it with the passing of the adventure and take advantage of the work tables that the Californian team has set up in many areas.

It is a long game, we already warned you, a title that is surely lengthened excessively in some areas by that accentuated ambition of the Neil Druckmann team. In fact, we have to say that it does not end up being as, as round as the first part; He sins with somewhat simple and repetitive puzzles, while some secondary characters are light years away from Ellie’s charisma, which eats the screen. We would have liked something more concise, to be more direct so that the moments of lucidity and climax were not so separated from each other.
