The Outlast Trials: new cooperative spin-off of the famous horror saga

Red Barrels, creators of the celebrated terrifying saga Outlast, announces a new episode for up to four players and set in the Cold War.

The Outlast Trials is a new videogame of the celebrated saga of Outlast horror as a spin-off that is in its first development steps; This has been announced by its leaders of Red Barrels through an official statement, advancing that it is an independent game set in the same universe of the main saga, but that in no case will it come as a sequel to the first two deliveries. So much so, that it is a cooperative experience for up to four players, although it can also be played alone.

It is not a virtual reality experience

And at the moment, only the official poster of the video game has been published, where we can see three people equipped with what looks like special vision glasses, which has caused uncertainty among Outlast fans who have quickly wondered if they It was a virtual reality video game. Shortly after, from Red Barrels they have spoken about it, ensuring that it is not a VR game at all.

Beyond promotional art, little else has transcended The Outlast Trials; At the moment we only know that it will lead us to experience the Cold War from the terrifying point of view of the saga, as we say, as a spin-off. Nor have platforms been announced, although it is expected to reach PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

According to the co-founder of Red Barrels, David Chateauneuf, the development team is already working thoroughly on this new video game: “We have already tested the concept, it is time to focus on the creation of content, on the variety … and in the gore, ”he says, which leads us to think that The Outlast Trials will maintain a level of terror similar to that of the two original installments of the saga.
