The PS5 controller "feels very different from Dualshock 4"

The Dualshock 5 awakens very positive impressions thanks to all its novelties: new speakers, adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.

Jim Ryan, new president of Sony Interactive Entertainment since April, has spoken on PlayStation 5 in the latest issue of the Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu, in which he has highlighted and claimed the future command of the console. “I've tried it with a trial version of Gran Turismo Sport. I was very surprised, it feels very different from DualShock 4, ”said Ryan. “It is a promising function. With it, and of course with the improvement in the graphics, I think the players will notice a great evolution in the gaming experience. ”

It is not the first time that the PlayStation 5 controller has to speak. A couple of months ago we echoed that it is awakening "great interest" among developers, who believe it may be a differential point of the platform. Among the confirmed features for this Dualshock 5 (for now provisional name) are the new speakers, adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. Of the first, not much is known, but the Wired portal, which has been able to test the driver, says they are “amazing”. On the other hand, the new triggers will allow different resistance levels to be set so that players can feel some details of the game differently, such as the weight of a weapon, the tension of the trigger or the hardness of a car's throttle.

Continuous design, but with new functions

Finally, haptic feedback is a function that aims to revolutionize standard vibration and is the one that is arousing the most interest. It changes the places from where the vibration is activated, the power of the vibration and the sensations that it causes in the palm of the hand. Developers like Jacob Stutton, of Infuse Studio (Spirit of the North), say that "it is a fantastic feature" and believes that the only thing you should avoid is "add costs to development", as happened with the touchpad of Dualshock 4.

To know the final aspect of the famous Dualshock 5 we will have to wait for next year, in which PlayStation 5 is scheduled to launch, but of course the command, which looked somewhat continuous in the first designs that circulate on the internet, already begins to call Attention for all its new functions. The important thing is inside, they say.
