Electronic Arts presented its current annual report and also discussed the new PS5 and Xbox Series X in the subsequent investor conference.
CFO Blake Jorgensen said that as a major publisher, you're under a lot of pressure to really use the new hardware. And as far as you can already judge, you will do just that and really blow the players away.
"Over the next few years, you will start to see things that we do at the games that will blow people away," said Jorgensen. βIt's the entertaining part of this business, where we're going to see so many innovations not just in ourselves, but across the industry. This is also the reason for the growth in the entire software business as part of this video game business that has been seen in every single console cycle over the past 20 years. β
EA itself is currently working on several next-gen projects, even if they are not yet explicitly named. Four major publications are planned for the coming fiscal year alone, which will appear outside the EA Sport series. In addition, one hopes for the new Battlefield 6 significant growth and drive, which should appear sometime in 2021, then probably also for PS5.
