We bring together some of the reactions of video game companies, which have said yes to inclusion and no to violence and racism.
Demonstrations have broken out in the United States. The #BlackLivesMatter movement has emerged after the murder of George Floyd by the police. The problem of racism in North American territory is not new, since it has been rooted since the time of slaves. However, the country chaired by Donald Trump has not stood idly by. Neither does the video game industry, which has massively supported anti-racism messages.
The rush began soon. Little by little, more companies have been joining, to the point that many of the events scheduled for these days have been postponed until further notice. This is the case of the presentation of PlayStation 5, which was scheduled for June 4 at 22:00 today. At Sony they have believed it prudent to wait until the clouds clear a little to announce the first video games of their new generation system, a movement that Xbox has publicly supported on social networks.

Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft, all three have joined #BlackLivesMatter
PlayStation has posted a message on Twitter: “We denounce systematic racism and violence against the black community. We will continue to work in a future market that revolves around empathy and inclusiveness. ” At the same time, they have wanted to support creators, employees, families and friends of the community.
Xbox, for its part, has issued a similar message: “Xbox positions itself alongside our fans, creators, colleagues, friends and the entire African American and black community against systematic racism and injustice.” Those of Redmond have confirmed that they are “proud” to join Microsoft in their project to expand the number of black voices in the company.
Nintendo has joined the voices of support and has expressed its regret for the “tragic death” of George Floyd, while sided with the black community and all those who share his vision of “equality and justice” . Nintendo rejects the exclusion and oppression that leads to this type of violence. They also agree to work to facilitate the entry of diverse voices, although they do not indicate how they are going to do it.

EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Riot Games, etc.
As we said, there are many companies that have decided to launch similar communications and break the silence. Electronic Arts, for example, has recognized that they have to do much more to guarantee the inclusion of groups. The North American company also revealed that it will donate a million dollars to various organizations. On the other hand, Ubisoft will donate $ 100,000 to the NAACP and Black Lives Matter and has encouraged individuals to do the same. “The murder of George Floyd and the systematic racism that the black community faces are deeply disturbing and painful,” they write.
At Activision Blizzard they join the cause and have stated that they are against racist comments and attitudes. “There is no place for it in society,” they say. Infinity Ward, developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, have established five measures to eradicate racism from their games:
Riot Games has published a message very similar to that of other companies and has proposed to fund anti-racism organizations that encourage business creation by the black community (the latter through the Riot Games Social Impact Found, as published by Kotaku). Square Enix, Warner Bros, Bungie, Bethesda, Capcom or Niantic have released their respective messages. You can read all of them under these lines.
We stand in solidarity with Black team members, players, and the Black community. We are making a $ 100,000 contribution to the NAACP and Black Lives Matter and encourage those who are able to, to donate. #BlackLivesMatter pic.twitter.com/KpHZCF6VWx
