This is how GTA 5 could look on PS5

We simulate the new Sony console with a PC

As announced last week at the PS5 launch event, GTA 5 will arrive with visual enhancements on this platform. As a matter of course, we decided to emulate what it would look like with components similar to those that the new console will have, without taking into account the cost, since undoubtedly that of the PC is much higher.

Taking into account that the PlayStation 5 will have a Ryzen processor with a base speed of 3.5 Ghz, for this exercise we use a Ryzen9 3950X that starts from the same frequency with 32 GB of Ram HyperX Predator RGB at 3200 Mhz.

As the base of the new Sony console is with AMD graphics, we are also looking for a graphics card that will approach at least in frequencies, computing units, bandwidth, TFLOPS, memory interface and size used by the game, since It is well known that PS5 will have 16 GB.

For this section we use a Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU

  • Memory used by GTA V: 8GB / GPU memory: 8GB / PS5 memory: 16GB
  • GPU Frequency: 2.1 GHz (overclocked) / PS5 Frequency: 2.23 Ghz
  • GPU computing units: 40 / PS5 computing units: 36
  • GPU Bandwidth: 448 GB / s / PS5 Bandwidth: 448 GB / s
  • GPU TFLOPS: 9.75 / PS5 TFLOPS: 10.3
  • GPU memory interface: 256-bit / 256-bit PS5 memory interface

It should be noted that we tried to take the game to the maximum in 4K resolution and with this configuration it only gave us 24 frames per second, to stabilize it at 60, we lowered everything to “normal” achieving 60 stable FPS, the bad thing is that many details were lost in the textures.

In the event that a gamer came to play this new version of GTA 5 on a Full HD television, we managed to bring the game to its maximum expression with 60 stable FPS and this result we decided to broadcast it live.

We recommend watching the video, as it could be a good approximation of what this game will be in the new PlayStation 5 scheduled for later this year.
