SEGA details the mechanics of one of Yakuza's star mini-games: Like a Dragon, the Kart races. Yokohama and Kamurocho will be the stages.

SEGA publishes new details about one of the mini-games that will debut in Yakuza: Like a Dragon: the kart competition. Beyond knowing the place where it will occur, the company shows the mechanics that will be attached to one of the star secondary contents of this delivery.

As they comment, throughout the races we will find different variations of the route that will make the races “very exciting”, including “jump ramps, explosive barrels, speed reduction zones, areas of electrical damage and more”. In the example they offer, Ichiban is placed with a heavy machine gun that can destroy the traps along the circuit. The number of objects is expected to be varied.

Like the miniature game of miniature cars of Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami, we can improve our kart in multiple ways: performance, acceleration, health, strength … there are many statistics that we can raise by buying and obtaining new parts. This will be vital for victory in the face-to-face clashes, a special race against the Dragon Kart rival quartet that will take us not only throughout Yokohama, but also Kamurocho.

In addition to the "Grand Prix" mode, the main experience (up to four of them will be available, in addition to the final championship), there is a time trial mode designed especially for those connected to the internet. In it you will be able to record your daily score to climb steps on the global scoreboard. Depending on the position in which we stay at the end of the day we will receive a reward or another.

During the races we can collect the typical coins already seen in the genre. With them we can acquire numerous objects in the Fujisawa store, the character that will invite us to the tournament. We will find many benefits not only for the protagonist, but also for the rest of the group members.

For its part, Yakuza: Like a Dragon will arrive on January 16 in Japan. It is expected that in the West it lands at some point still unknown in 2020. You can see its latest gameplay trailer on this link.
