New from Rocksteady (Batman Arkham) is a game in which Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark and Captain Boomerang fight against Superman and his allies.

At last. It’s been more than four years since the last projects from Rocksteady Studios (Batman: Arkham VR in 2016 and Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015), but the developer’s new game is here. It has been officially presented in the DC Fandome, it is called Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, it arrives in 2022 and will be released only for the new generation of consoles (PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X). It is set in the same universe as the Batman: Arkham saga (it even continues its story), but it does not take place in Gotham, but in the city of Metropolis. Although it can be played alone, it will have a cooperative mode for four people in which we can handle some of the best-known villains in the DC universe: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark and Captain Boomerang. With them we will undertake a mission that a priori seems impossible: to end the Justice League, which happens to defeat Superman, the only enemy confirmed so far.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

The confrontation between Suicide Squad and The Justice League also took place a few years ago in a comic of the same name that was written by Joshua Williamson (regular writer of the Flash series) and drawn by Jason Fabok (a veteran voice in Justice League ). It remains to be seen how much Rocksteady’s work drinks from that one, but if we take him as a reference we can expect many more heroes and villains from the DC universe than we have seen in the first game trailer. After all, in the comic we also had Killer Croc, Katana, and Rick Flagg on one side; and Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, and Green Lantern on the other. Will the developer have saved the odd surprise for the next few months?

Gotham Knights, the other Batman game

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League was not the only game presented at DC Fandome, in which we also had the first gameplay trailer for Gotham Knights, the new from Warner Bros. Montreal, the creators of Batman: Arkham Origins. This is one more installment in the vein of the latest superhero games and seems to continue the story of Batman: Arkham Knight (2015). In this last Batman died, and therefore now we will have to defend Gotham from a new enemy, the terrifying Court of Owls, using only the successors of the bat: Batgirl, Red Hood, Nightwing and Robin. This time the adventure can be played either alone, or in cooperative mode for two people, it has new vehicles like the Batmoto and adds a new RPG system very similar to the last Assassin’s Creed. The characters will level up, will have customizable equipment and when fighting we will now see the life bar of the enemies and the damage we do to them in each hit. It remains to be seen if the title shares a universe with Suicide Squad, but unlike this one, it will arrive in 2021 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and Xbox One.
