After its cancellation due to the coronavirus, the TGS 2020 returns in an online format and promises news about video games in September.
Nothing is the same after the coronavirus epidemic that has spread across the globe. In a year of generational change, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X just around the corner, a strong presence of these systems was expected at the different face-to-face fairs. The Tokyo Game Show 2020 had already announced that both platforms would be very present at the event, but like E3 2020, Gamescom, etc., the Tokyo fair was finally canceled. However, that does not mean that the event is not going to take place. The organization has just confirmed that the new edition will take place from September 23 to 27, although in online format.
According to the press release, several companies and organizations in the video game industry, as well as large publishers and small indie developers, will unveil the news of their upcoming projects, including titles not yet announced. They will offer streaming programming, videos and web updates. As if that were not enough, an esports tournament will be broadcast and information will be given on new articles related to video games.

And what happens with networking?
Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online will provide a platform dedicated to business and designed for exhibitors working in businesses related to video games. The objective is to facilitate meetings and networking options. Individuals with the same profile can also participate for free. It is also confirmed that the system will launch in mid-August.
With large fairs canceled or converted into online events, new initiatives have emerged that aim to show all the news that is on the horizon. Sony Interactive Entertainment, which had already ruled out participating in E3 2020, broke all its viewer records at the PlayStation 5 game presentation.
