Ubisoft Removes PS5 Backward Compatibility Article "Due To Inaccuracies"

The French company does not specify whether Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, the Chronicles trilogy and more games will be backward compatible on PlayStation 5.

As details became known about backward compatibility on PS5, we learned that only 10 PS4 games could not be played on the new console, although one of them will receive a patch in the future. However, a few days ago Ubisoft published an article assuring that several of its games would not be backward compatible, although this text has been rectified due to “inaccuracies”.

“Most of our game catalog will be backward compatible with the new generation of consoles, with a few exceptions,” they said from the French company, mentioning games such as the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles trilogy, Space Junkies, and above all, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. However, it seems that it will not be exactly like that.

Backward compatible … or not?

“We have deleted the article in Ubisoft Connect and the posts in the backward compatibility forum for the moment, since there are inaccuracies about the Ubisoft games that will be playable on PS5”, they have rectified, although without specifying if all those games mentioned do they will be playable on the console.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate

It is not the first time that Ubisoft has to clarify information regarding, above all, the compatibility or performance of some of its games on PS5. Without going any further, a few weeks ago the rumor jumped that Far Cry 6 would offer 4K “only” on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X, something that the company had to rectify, stating that both PS4 Pro and PS5 would also reach that resolution . Recently there has also been talk that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will reach 60 fps and 4K on PS5, although this resolution will be rescaled, without official denial, for now, by Ubisoft.
