The Uncharted movie will be inspired by Uncharted 4, confirms Tom Holland

After knowing that the tape was going to be paralyzed by the pandemic, it is now confirmed that the delay in its publication is a fact, goodbye to March 2021.

Sony Pictures has decided to delay the release date of the Uncharted-based film because of the coronavirus (COVID-19). If we knew in mid-March that the company had executed a stoppage plan as an extension for six weeks – it was going to start filming in Berlin this April – now we know that this waiting time will translate into the umpteenth change on the release date of the feature film starring Tom Holland: It will not be released on March 5, 2021.

October 8, 2021 – New Uncharted Release Date

According to ComicBook, the new release date for the Uncharted film in theaters around the world will be October 8, 2021, a full semester change — the same methodology as the new James Bond film 007—; although the will to resume pre-production and consequent opening of the filming in late April or early May does not change.

One of the problems that Sony Pictures has encountered when setting that new date on the calendar is spider man. The young Brit, also Peter Parker as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has to start working with Marvel Studios in Spider-Man 3 this coming July in Atlanta, as he himself recently revealed in a jubilant message. Spider-Man 3 will be released, if there are no changes due to COVID-19, on July 16, 2021.

Thus, the Uncharted film will be inspired by Uncharted 4: The Thief's End and finally has a closed and definitive cast of actors, with names such as Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas, Tati Gabrielle, Sophia Ali and Ruben Fleischer . Again, a change of plans stands in the way of reimagining Nathan Drake's adventures in the seventh art.

Apart from this film, another Naughty Dog intellectual property is also heading to the audiovisual world; in this case, television. Naughty Dog made the news a few weeks ago for the confirmation of the series of The Last of Us. The British network HBO will take charge of its adaptation with Craig Mazin, creator of the Chernobyl series, in the role of showrunner; from the hand of Evan Wells, president of Naughty Dog, and Neil Druckmann, creative director of The Last of Us Part II, in creative work. There is no specific date for the premiere of said series, but it was indicated that it will do so "soon".
