Riot Games just revealed Summit, a brand‑new Valorant map that will drop into the Competitive queue on June 24 and feature a permanent wall‑chaining system that reshapes the battlefield mid‑round.
Perpetual wall blocks alter the fight
Summit hosts two spike sites and three lanes, but its hallmark is the three civil‑engineering‑style walls that can be triggered by shooting a nearby switch. Once activated, a wall closes completely for the rest of the round and blocks sightlines, rotation routes and even player travel; a stunned opponent caught beneath it is eliminated. Unlike the reversible doors on Lotus, the walls on Summit cannot be opened again, forcing teams to redo tactics on the fly.
Season 2026 // Act 4 expansions
Diversifying the roster, Act 4 adds the 3×3 Retake mode, where a round always starts with the spike planted. Teams alternate defense and offense while load‑out difficulty rises as the match progresses. The update also launches the Blackspyre Collection of skins and a fresh Battle Pass that offers cosmetics such as the Sky Reaper Ghost and Blep Spray. Additionally, Riot confirmed the next Game Changers Championship will take place in Brazil.
Getting to grips with the new map
To ease the learning curve, Riot is halving the Ranked Rating loss on Summit for the first fortnight, while victories will still award full RR. For the first week after launch, a Summit‑only Swiftplay queue will let players practice the new map without distribution consequences.
