The Super Data consultancy reflects that almost half of the units were sold during the last quarter of 2019.
Half-Life 3 was not announced, but the Valve saga returns with a video game that puts all the meat on the grill and bets on virtual reality. This technology supports the gaming experience and is used with the aim of offering new approaches. Half-Life: Alyx has also allowed, according to Super Data, to boost the sales of Valve Index, the virtual reality helmets of the Steam creative company.
The device was sold last June and sold, throughout the year 2019, a total of 149,000 units. The fact is that during Q4 more than twice as many devices were sold compared to the previous period, specifically 103,000 units. This rebound coincides with the Half-Life: Alyx announcement, which was produced at the end of November.

Super Data has also revealed the sales list of all virtual reality helmets during the fourth quarter of the year. Half-Life: Alyx, meanwhile, will not be one of the video games that are delayed. At least that says Valve, who has reported that the title is almost finished. "We are convinced that we will meet the planned launch date," says the study. According to the company, there are only a few adjustments left before the title goes on sale. The release date? It is not yet officially confirmed.
To celebrate the arrival of the new installment, Valve has initiated a promotion through which it is possible to enjoy all the titles of the Half-Life saga under a free-to-play model. This means that when the campaign ends, all players who have not previously purchased the titles will have to checkout if they want to continue playing.
Half-Life: Alyx will go on sale exclusively for PC, although the studio has not ruled out a possible version for PlayStation VR in the future.
