Max Verstappen clinched his first Singapore Grand Prix win, taking the 2026 title again after a dominant performance at Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Red Bull’s Double Triumph in Singapore
Paired with pole positions for both the sprint and main races, Verstappen overhauled the field in a clear display of speed and control.
His victory marked the 200th grand prix start breaking in a season that includes back‑to‑back wins at Bahrain and Malaysia.
Farewell Podium with Gianpiero Lambiase
During the podium ceremony, Verstappen noted the moment’s significance as he shared the stage with departing race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase, who is leaving the team for McLaren as chief racing officer in 2028.
“I didn’t expect that,” Verstappen said. “He told me last year in Vegas it might be his last podium, and I said we’d win more.”
Lambiase will depart after his contract expires at the end of 2027; Tom Hart will take over as Verstappen’s engineer at the 2026 United States, Brazilian and Las Vegas events, and thereafter for 2027.
Season Standing and Upcoming Changes
Following the Singapore triumph, Verstappen sits fourth with 221 points, trailing champion Kimi Antonelli by 119.
The result secures Red Bull Racing’s success across sprint and main formats while underscoring the team’s depth in engineering talent as Lambiase exits.
