Why doesn't the PS5 DualSense have button colors? Its designer explains it

“Except for some special editions, we had always used those colors. For PlayStation 5 we tried to remove what was already there. I wanted to simplify it and make it universal. The shape already indicates which button is going to be used, so you don’t really need the colors to distinguish them. For this reason, I decided that everything had a single tone ”, assures the Japanese creative.

Thus, the DualSense presents a two-color scheme: black and white. There are no colors for any button, as each button already indicates its usefulness. “That is why colors are not necessary,” Morisawa concludes. Of course, Sony already pointed out in the past that the DualSense will be available in other colors in the future; In addition, in the recent question and answer FAQ on the technical details of the console, it is ensured that the DualSense has a battery life similar to that of the DualShock 4.
