Williams unveiled a Union Jack‑inspired livery for the British Grand Prix, adding red and white accents to its iconic blue chassis for this year’s Silverstone weekend.
Livery and Team Kit Reveal
While the base swagger of blue remains, the new scheme punctuates the nose cone and side of the chassis with national colours. Drivers Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz will don special‑edition race suits that mirror the livery, and the team kit has been refreshed to echo the design.
Team principal James Vowles said the move celebrates “the unmistakable atmosphere of the home crowd” at Silverstone and that “the flag will be carried by the squad all weekend” as the team heads to the GP.
Merchandise and Fan Response
Fans can now buy shirts aligned with the new look, including a T‑shirt (£74), polo (£83), cap (£41) and jacket (£130). Responses have been mixed: some commentators applaud the understated homage, while others desire a more spirited statement.
Season Standing and GP Dates
After a slow start, Williams sits eighth in the Constructors’ Championship with 11 points. In the Drivers’ standings, Carlos Sainz is 14th with six points, and Alex Albon 15th with five points. The British Grand Prix will run at Silverstone from 3 to 5 July.
As the team prepares to aim for a stronger finish, the livery may prove to be a rallying symbol for British locals amid the season’s competitive grind.
