Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia has announced the winners of the 2019 PlayStation Awards, the twenty-fifth edition of this annual event dedicated entirely to the PlayStation brand, which as today celebrates the 25th anniversary of the launch of the company's original console.

The awards are limited to recognizing the greatest commercial successes in Japan and the rest of Asia of all the software available on PlayStation consoles in the period from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019, where works such as this are calculated God of War, Kingdom Hearts III or Marvel's Spider-Man. They do not necessarily have to be launched in that period; Sales are computed over those twelve months.

Thus, the Platinum Prize – games that accumulate more than one million copies sold – take the latest from Sony Santa Monica, NieR: Automata, Red Dead Redemption 2, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Kingdom Hearts III.

The Gold Prize, those that have sold between 500,000 units and one million copies, has names like Devil May Cry 5, FIFA 19 and FIFA 20, Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII or Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Other prizes awarded in this PlayStation Awards 2019 correspond to the public's favorites in the computed period, the most successful for PlayStation VR and the most successful independent games.
