Season Overview
Following the discontinuation of the Prototype Winter Series after 2025, the 2027 calendar is streamlined to three primary competitions. GT Winter Series retains GT3 as its pinnacle class, inviting Lamborghini, Porsche and Ferrari one‑make cup entries as well as select exotic machinery that aligns with the series concept. GT4 Winter Series continues to provide a dedicated platform for GT4 cars, while the Formula Winter Series molds young talent for the forthcoming German Formula 4 season.

The schedule runs from mid‑January to early March, with venues spanning Portugal and Spain.

The season opens in Portimao, Portugal, and concludes in Valencia, Spain, solidifying the Winter Series’ status as a consistent fixture on the international motorsport calendar.
Series Highlights & Regulations
The shielded six‑hour endurance at Portimao, scheduled for early February, remains a highlight but does not impact championship points. Regulations are crafted to balance competition: mandatory pit‑stop windows prevent professional drivers from dominating, fostering a level playing field for gentleman pilots while still welcoming seasoned racers.

New German Formula 4 Championship
In late summer 2027, Gedlich Racing will launch a new German Formula 4 series, marking the first national Formula‑4 championship in Germany since 2022. Drivers from the Winter Series’ Formula category will be positioned to carry their experience into this new national platform.
