Warner Bros. updates the release dates in theaters for its upcoming blockbusters, including Wonder Woman, Matrix 4, Godzilla vs Kong or Tenet.
The global crisis of the coronavirus continues to wreak havoc also at the level of film productions after months of delays in the upcoming world premieres; again, and after suffering several delays, Wonder Woman 1984 (one of the most anticipated films in DC) returns to delay its release in theaters for the umpteenth time, now passing from August 14 to October 2 of this year. This has been announced by Warner Bros., in addition to confirming new dates for many of its next blockbusters, whose filming has been affected by the pandemic.
Wonder Woman 1984 goes to October 2020
Recall that Wonder Woman 1984 was originally going to be released in November 2019, but from Warner Bros. they opted for a summer premiere, delaying it to June 2020. But the coronavirus pandemic came, ruining the plans of the producer, passing it to August and now to October.

Gal Gadot herself has shared the new date on networks, assuring that “the new release date for WW84 is October 2, 2020. Wow, it’s finally happening, and I couldn’t be more excited! To all the fans who stayed with us all this time, thank you very much! We could not have done this without you. I am so excited that you can see WW84, it will be worth the wait, “she concludes.
On the other hand, Warner Bros. has confirmed the delay of other productions such as Tenet, Godzilla vs Kong or the highly anticipated Matrix 4 with Keanu Reeves, which finally passes from May 21, 2021 to April 1, 2022. Below you can see the new Warner dates:
- Tenet: July 31, 2020 (before July 17, 2020)
- Wonder Woman 1984: October 2, 2020 (before August 14, 2020)
- Tom & Jerry: March 5, 2021 (before December 23, 2020)
- Godzilla vs Kong: May 21, 2021 (before November 20, 2020)
- The Witches: 2021 with no specific date (before October 9, 2020)
- Matrix 4: April 1, 2022 (previously May 21, 2021)
