Monolith confirmed long ago that they want to continue with their intellectual property, although at the moment there are no confirmed games.
Yasunori Mitsuda is a composer who has worked with Monolith on numerous projects. In addition to being responsible for the sheet music for Xenosaga, he has also written the accompanying notes for the characters in Xenoblade Chronicles and its sequel, both available on Nintendo Switch. The novelty is that the musician has anticipated that he is immersed in a new project, although of course he has not confirmed the nature of it.
“We have a full-scale recording session in April,” he posts on his blog. “The scores are scattered throughout the studio. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a trio, so the number of instruments is quite large ”. The fact that the scores are here and there is no exaggeration. Accompanying the blog post, he publishes a photograph in which you can see in great detail that this picture is real.

The saga, almost complete on Switch
Xenoblade 2 was released three years ago exclusively for Nintendo Switch, but the studio developed a remastered version of the first installment. This game saw the light for the first time in the first Wii, although it also featured a version for Nintendo 3DS. At the moment the only game in the saga that has not been marketed in the Kyoto hybrid is Xenoblade Chronicles X. In fact, it is one of the only Wii U games that remain exclusive to this console.
Neither Nintendo nor Monolith have announced a hypothetical Xenoblade Chronicles 3, so we will have to wait until there is an announcement in that direction. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Direct served to confirm some of the projects that Kyoto has underway, including both the remastering of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Splatoon 3.
