The seventh installment of the saga is only announced for PlayStation 4, but other titles in the franchise have already been released on the Valve platform.
In an interconnected world like the one we live in, keeping secrets is not easy. Leaks are the order of the day and information flows almost uncontrollably. Not even the Yakuza: Like a Dragon Japanese mob has managed to prevent SteamDB, a bot that records all the entries that occur in the Steam store, from discovering that the new Sega production has appeared on the platform. At the moment, the Japanese company has not announced it for PC (it is exclusive to PlayStation 4), but other products in the series are available.
Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami went on sale on Steam, while other remasters like Yakuza 3,4 and 5 have not yet been released on compatible. All in all, producer Daisuki Sato dropped the possibility of it happening in the future. As for the seventh chapter, his release date in the West has not yet been made official. Like other installments of the saga, it is first released in Japan, something that happened last January.
Clues about Yakuza: Like a Dragon on Steam.
A new beginning, a new protagonist
Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a new path in the series. The story of Kazama Kiryu, the perennial protagonist throughout all the chapters, ended her story in Yakuza 6. From now on, new narrative paths are opened by the hand of a new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, who spent 18 years in jail for a crime you did not commit. The most notable mechanical change occurs in the battle system, which abandons the action in real time to switch to turn-based combat.
Beyond this installment, the future of the saga depends on the fans, as producer Masayoshi Yokoyama assures: "Basically, the next thing we do depends on the feedback from the players with Yakuza: Like a Dragon". Although his will is to continue the story of Ichiban, he does not leave closed the possibility of producing a spin-off or a game with several protagonists.
