Yakuza: Like a Dragon is shown in a new gameplay trailer

Kasuga becomes the protagonist of this seventh installment, which modifies the mechanics and becomes a turn-based RPG.

The story of Kazuma Kiryu lived its outcome in Yakuza 6: Song of Life, but that does not mean that the saga is over. The Sega franchise will continue with a new beginning full of adventures within the environments in which the Japanese mafia moves. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is the new title of the studio, which will be released exclusively for PlayStation 4 on January 16, 2020, although only in Japan. To open your mouth, a new official video game trailer has been shown, which you can see on these lines.

Unlike the previous games of the saga, the premiere of this new plot line entails a change in its mechanics. Until now, the main saga had always been characterized by its fighting in real time. However, Yakuza: Like a Dragon will choose to embrace a more RPG style. That means the fighting will take turns, although they promise they will be dynamic. Thus, a system of work (similar to classes), invocations and the possibility of crafting weapons is introduced.

One of the most characteristic mini-games that will return is that of karaoke. How could it be otherwise, the new protagonist, Kasuga, will go to his trusted bar and put the microphone in his mouth to interpret the hits of the moment. In addition, the character will have the possibility to collect different discs.

Sega's name returns as a company

Toshihiro Nagoshi is one of the great leaders of the Yakuza saga, but also has managerial functions. Therefore, he has been in charge of announcing that Sega Interactive and Sega Games will merge to form a single company, Sega. It will do so from April 1, the date on which Sega Holdings, the company on which these two divisions depend, will change its name to Sega Group.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be released in the West at the end of 2020.
