Warframe is also coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X

The company that owns Digital Extremes, the studio in charge, confirms that Warframe will also be available on the new consoles from Sony and Microsoft.

The success of Warframe, the popular multiplayer shooter from Digital Extremes and that has important plans for this 2020, will have continuity in the next generation, since its launch has also been confirmed on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. This was announced by the company owner of his studio, Leyou Technologies, in addition to affirming that it will also reach “other devices”, without specifying which ones it could be.

Still, the latest financial report from Leyou Technologies shows that Warframe has had a decrease in revenue in recent months, something the company blames on the absence of new players. This they attribute, in turn, to the current end of the cycle of the present generation, something that they obviously hope to solve with the arrival of the new consoles. Not only that, but other games are also believed to have garnered attention, specifically "Warframe-like gameplay-themed Triple A's that were released by reputable studios and major publishing companies."

"With the launch of the new generation consoles in late 2020, sales of current models have been falling, which has also contributed to a decrease in the number of console players," they say from Leyou. "The group is preparing to expand Warframe to more platforms, such as next-gen consoles and other devices. We are confident that Warframe will enter a new phase of development, after overcoming these temporary bumps. ”

Leyou Technologies, a company still unknown to the general public, also owns the Splash Damage studio, and has several projects in the works without announcing, something that will most likely occur later this year.

The Tennocon 2020, from home

How could it be otherwise, the coronavirus crisis has also affected the celebration of Tennocon 2020, the annual event organized by Digital Extremes dedicated to its video game. Obviously, it is completely impossible that it be held in person, so the study has found an alternative in a digital event that will be seen on July 11. That is, the date is maintained, and in the coming weeks it is expected that the ways to enjoy it from home will be made public, which for the moment is what it is about.
