After confirming that it would be possible to make remote forays from the comfort of home during the coronavirus, they are now enabled for everyone.
Remote raids are now available in Pokémon GO. After a wait of several weeks since Niantic announced that it was working on this possibility, all players of the popular iOS and Android title can now play raids from home now that we are confined as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The company has issued a statement explaining its operation in detail.
How to play forays from home in Pokémon GO
To participate in a raid from home you will need to have a remote raid pass. As we see in the game itself, a pack of 3 units of remote raids has been enabled for only 1 Pokécurrency. From there, each pass has a cost of 100 Pokémonedas (0.99 euros). This pass will be essential to participate in those raids beyond our reach. Additionally, Niantic has enabled the following:
- One additional field research task a day without having to flip PokéStops.
- The companion Pokémon will approach the nearby Poké stops and bring us gifts so that we can send them to friends.
- We can give more power to our Pokémon until we reach the desired PC with all the necessary Candy and Star Powders at the same time.
- Star Chunk, Lucky Egg or Incense items can be used more times to extend their effect and exceed the 30 minute limit we are used to. That is to say, it does not need to end its effect to reuse it: we can chain several at the same time.

Coronavirus-enabled special bonuses
We remember that, up to 33 days from the date of today (as indicated by the game itself), we have twice the duration of the incense, increased effectiveness of the incense, opening 1.5 times more gifts, double the space for gifts in the Bag, no walking requirement for GO Fighting League (online PvP), half distance to hatch and increased damage for Trainers participating in ranged forays.
If you are a regular Pokémon GO player and plan to continue playing from home until the confinement period ends, in this article we review all the functionalities enabled for remote play, as well as the restrictions and derived details.
