The event will be held on Thursday night, May 4, and will focus on news about Playstation 5.

It is official. We have a PS5 event confirmed for June 4 at 10pm (Spain). This has been announced by Sony on its Playstation blog with an open letter from Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. In it, he explains that with each generation they aim "higher and higher, and we push the limits to try to offer better experiences to our community. That has been the mission of PlayStation for more than 25 years, and I have been part of it almost since beginning". Under this premise relates that a new console is always an exciting announcement and that after showing technical specifications and the DualSense controller plays the best, games.

"What good is a game-free release?" With this phrase Ryan expresses that they will show the first video games that we can enjoy after the launch of Playstation 5 this Christmas. In addition, he asserts that they will be "the best in the sector, and will come from the hand of innovative developers from all over the world. All studios, large or small, veteran or new, have worked hard on the development of video games that show off the potential of the console".

A presentation of more than one hour

According to Ryan himself, the presentation will last just over an hour and "for the first time we will all be sharing the excitement." He regrets that physical events cannot be held but concludes that it is an "incredible opportunity" to think differently and take a trip closer than ever. They also advise that they will continue to display information in the days to come after the presentation.
