Both the versions for the new generation and for the current one will be marketed at the same time, at the end of 2020.

Amusement parks may be closed due to the coronavirus, but enjoying that entertainment is within the reach of video games. Frontier Developments has announced that Planet Coaster: Console Edition, its theme park simulation experience, will not neglect the new generation of consoles. In fact, the company has confirmed that “after its great reception by critics and its success in PC sales”, the title will be released at the same time on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. They promise an improved version, Although they have not gone into detail in the press release.

It is also unclear if those who buy the video game in the current generation will have the possibility to upgrade to the improved version of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X for free. At the moment, a preliminary list of games that make use of the Smart Delivery feature (which allows you to play the best version on Microsoft’s new generation system) does not include Planet Coaster: Console Edition.

The park of your dreams

This video game gives the player the possibility to design and manage amusement parks. The console version will offer “all the depth, strategy and customization that is already on PC,” they report in the press release. Thanks to the included tools, users will be able to create the amusement park from scratch, with the freedom to do it their way. Frontier ensures that players will have full control over the park, as well as its management. “Your visitors react in real time with satisfaction, panic, or disapproval.”

As in any theme park, it will not be enough to build heart-stopping attractions, but you will have to choose between the wide variety of attractions and set up merchandising shops and restaurants so that all visitors feel comfortable in the complex.
