Quake Champions was one of the titles of the present generation that did not meet their expectations. The famous brand owned by Bethesda has not managed to take off in the last five years, which was joined by the march of Tim Willits after 24 years at id Software.

Machinegames, currently responsible for the reboot of Wolfenstein, have not hidden their enthusiasm for the possibility of working on the reimagining of Quake, as several of those responsible assured in 2019. In any case, the future of id Software goes through the first plot expansion from Doom: Eternal, called The Ancient Gods Part 1.
