Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a reality. The new installment by Treyarch has already been shown to the world in a different way than what we were used to in the saga. Verdansk has been the chosen setting to introduce the community in an interactive presentation. Because Warzone, more than ever, is part of Activision’s plans for the next few years.
Therefore, in this piece we tell you how the event was, what challenges had to be done and what were the rewards to obtain. In the header you can see it in full.
Event in Call of Duty: Warzone | Know the history
The event began with an update to the playlists. From 7:30 PM CEST to 8:30 PM CEST on August 26, 2020, Warzone players took part in an exclusive game mode for the event. Called Know the History, we were involved in four objectives for a short space of time.
The conditions of the mode were a reinterpretation of what was seen in Blood Money. We could select our equipment from the custom classes. Comebacks were limited and the UAV had unlimited coverage. Everything was prepared so that the shooting did not stop during the 15 minutes of departure.
The first mission asked us to obtain five secret documents. These objects fell after an enemy died. After managing to collect the quintet, we were pointed to a specific destination where to collect a code key. Its appearance was similar to that of bunker cards, with the peculiarity that when you picked it up, it remained linked to us forever.
This second objective usually appeared at one end of the map. This trip required the use of a vehicle scattered around Verdansk. Fortunately for the players, his comebacks were also constant.
For the third goal we had to take the key to a chest whose destination was marked around a circle. Simple: go to an area and search the surrounding area for its sound. After finding it, we obtained the coordinate map for the final mission: “take up the weapon.”
The coordinates were linked to the same ones indicated when opening the battle royale play area. We had to look for the quadrant where to find the rifle. It was something like the trunk, except that there was no visual aid. If luckily you found it, the signs were clear. The weapon we were holding was offered to us by Frank Woods himself, dressed in his war uniform.
In this way we unlocked all the rewards available in the event, including Woods’ weapon: Bay of Pigs.
