InnerSloth confirms that they will not develop the long-awaited sequel, but will focus on making the current video game the experience they want.
Among Us 2 has been officially canceled. PuffballsUnited, co-founder of InnerSloth, has declared through an official statement the situation around what is already one of the biggest phenomena of 2020 in the video game industry. The objective of the study is to improve the current product and focus its efforts fully on the title that we can download on PC and iOS or Android mobile devices.
“The main reason we were launching a sequel is because the code of Among Us 1 is very outdated and is not created to support the addition of great new content,” he begins by saying to make it clear that an eventual second episode only responded to a technological necessity that cannot assume the title that everyone is currently playing.
“However, seeing so many people playing Among Us 1 makes us really want to continue supporting the game and take it to the next level. We have decided to cancel Among Us 2 and, therefore, put all our efforts into improving Among Us 1 ”, he continues.
Among Us! It has become the best-selling video game on Steam and one of the three most viewed on Twitch this September.
Four great novelties planned for Among Us
All the content they had planned for the sequel will be released in the current Among Us. “It is probably the most difficult decision because this means that we will have to continue to delve into the code of the game and we will have to rework some of its parts. We have a lot of things planned, we are excited to bring you new content and that you can continue to enjoy playing! ”, He concludes.
In addition, InnerSloth anticipates some of those novelties on the way for the game, which are not exactly few. In summary, this is what stands out in the official note published at dawn this Thursday:
- Servers: While they don’t know when they’ll have it ready, they promise better servers so the game doesn’t crash.
- Support for color blind: accessibility, allowing people with some kind of problem to perceive certain colors or color ranges to enjoy.
- Friends / Accounts System: to be able to guarantee games with whom we want and only with whom we want. “It will take us a while,” they warn.
- New Scenario: It’s in an early stage of development, but a new Henry Stickmin-based location is coming soon.
