Marvel's Avengers: the studio foresaw the controversy with the appearance of the characters

Shaun Escayg, creative director of Crystal Dynamics, acknowledges that in the study they knew that the physical aspect of The Avengers would bring controversy.

Already during its presentation in society during the past E3 2019, the appearance of The Avengers in Marvel's Avengers has been the main topic of conversation around the game of Crystal Dynamics, to which the studio has had to respond with several good-sized gameplay. This controversy, according to Shaun Escayg, creative director of the study, is something they saw coming from the beginning.

A predictable controversy

This, together with the decision to place Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel, not only as a game player but also as the main protagonist of the story, has made fans watch the game with at least one arched eyebrow. No surprise for Escayg and his team, who have made it clear from time to time that the visual section will be polished, which includes the appearance of The Avengers.

"We knew we were going to have that challenge," Escayg acknowledges. "We're going to fight 10 years of movie history. And you know, people forget very quickly, but when the first movie appeared, there was the same problem: people were disappointed with how the characters looked. So we knew this was going to pass".

"Our focus has always been the original story," Escayg continues. "That, and how we make it seem authentic and real with the DNA of each of the characters, and bring that story to life."

Meanwhile, Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that not only can we play with The Avengers and Ms. Marvel, but there will be more that will arrive via DLC after its launch. Marvel's Avengers will arrive on May 15 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia, and will do so with a collector's edition that will include, among other physical items, a figure of Captain America.
