Call of Duty Modern Warfare: a video of the battle royale map is leaked

Activision has not yet announced the incorporation of this modality, although an earlier leak revealed a map plot, which coincides with what was seen in the video.

Activision and Infinity Ward work on multiple content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which translates into the inclusion of a season model with a battle pass. However, something that has not yet been officially confirmed is whether the game will add a battle royale mode in the future. Despite this, last November the outline of a map was leaked, something that matches the latest content leaked on Reddit: a video of the map that fits with the design of a location designed for the battle royale.

As shown below, it is an extensive map seen from above, a stage surrounded by snowy mountains, roads and urban environments. Although there is nothing official, the initial leak aimed at a total number of 200 players, but we must wait for the US company to reveal all its plans in this regard. Meanwhile, the only certainty is the existence of a map with a battle royale structure.

Blackout, a first attempt

Call of Duty: Black Ops IV was the first videogame in the saga to introduce a battle royale mode. Blackout was released as part of the final product, which dispensed with campaign mode. However, the company decided not to do the same with Modern Warfare launch. Instead they bet on the return of the campaign, one of the most prominent modes of the work of Infinity Ward.

The production was recently updated with a new map of Terrestrial War and an additional game mode, Infected, which consists of infecting (killing) the opponent to join your team. In the coming weeks many new content will be added, as part of Season 1 of the battle pass. Instead of a season pass model, as it had been done so far, Activision modified its strategy to adapt to a different business model, practiced by some of the most successful titles today.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
