DICE reveals in a video the creative process after the new version of Wake Island, the mythical map already available in Battlefield 5.
Battlefield 5 has just received one of the most beloved maps by fans of the saga. The legendary Wake Island has been the battlefield for hundreds of thousands of players since accompanying the launch of the original, Battlefield: 1942. Since then, it has gone through multiple reinterpretations: Battlefield: 1943, the third and fourth numbered installments are just a few of the titles that had to their credit the appropriate redesign for the gameplay they dictated.
The last one would not be less. After the launch of the Pacific campaign, the community has received the map at no additional cost, which doubles in size to the one designed more than 10 years ago. To celebrate this milestone, from DICE they have published a video in which they explain the creative process that has led them after this edition, as well as a small retrospective on how it looked like in the past. Depending on the game mode, one part or another of the map will be displayed. For example, Breakthrough's frantic action occurs from the top center of the map, just where most of the industrial buildings built for the occasion are located. Unlike the rest of the works, the study places special emphasis on infantry level design. Regarding the rest of the versions, we find a Wake Island with a multitude of trenches, bunkers and destruction zones when passing vehicles.
The start of this second year is already available from the introduction of the first two maps of the Pacific, Iwo Jima and Pacific Storm. We will have Battlefield 5 for a while, since Electronic Arts confirmed that we will not see a new production until fiscal year 2022, that is, well into the new generation, whose first look we have recently had with Xbox Series X, the next step of the division in The video game industry.
