Epic Games’ newest trailer confirms the Fortnite Kingdom Hearts crossover is coming, unveiling four character skins and a new Keyblade Mythic weapon.
Fortnite Kingdom Hearts Trailer Highlights
The X post dated September 15 shows key art featuring Sora, Kairi, Riku and Roxas—each model equipped with a unique Keyblade that acts as a pickaxe. The cinematic also spotlights the iconic Moon morphing into a glowing heart, a cosmetic that will persist until the season’s end or the rumored Fortnitemares 2026 event.
Keyblade Mythic Weapon and Spell Mechanics
The Sora skin will pair with a Mythic pickaxe that summons a lightning burst—named Thundaga—over a modest area. Early sightings suggest the spell may stack or recharge gradually, while the weapon itself offers a spinning attack and a modest speed boost. Fortnite players can expect the Mythic to drop from Rare or Relic chests within the Island’s Temple vaults.
Additional Skins, Pickaxes and the Item Shop
Roxas features Oblivion and Oathkeeper as his pickaxes, Riku brings Way to Dawn, and Kairi carries Destiny’s Embrace. These accessories will be purchasable in the Item Shop once the 42.20 update finishes its downtime. Concurrently, the Shadow Heartless cosmetic set will be added, and the Ironmouse skin will launch on the same day, also slated for September 17.
With the launch tied to update 42.20’s final cut, the Kingdom Hearts skins and the Keyblade Mythic weapon set a clear agenda for gameplay changes and loot hunting during the upcoming season.
