NetEase Games has revealed the Avengers Infinity War PvP mode set to launch with Marvel Rivals Season 10.5, promising 2v2 deathmatches and Infinity Stone power‑ups.
New Gameplay Mechanics
On launch day, 12 players will split into six duo teams, battling for survival in a 2v2 format that begins each round with a random Infinity Stone. Teams that lose all health are eliminated, leaving the final duo as champions.
Along with Stone abilities, players receive upgrade cards between rounds—similar to Blood Hunt. These cards allow heroes to receive tailored builds, offering flexibility across the roster.
Stone Power‑Ups and Build Options
Each match grants a team an Infinity Stone: the Time Stone rewinds time, the Reality Stone transforms incoming fire into harmless bubbles, and the remaining four stones deliver unique effects. Both base and enhanced versions are available, echoing the new team‑up abilities of the game.
Players can also steal a rival team’s Stone by defeating them in a round, adding strategic depth and rewarding aggressive play.
Mode Dynamics and Final Vision
The new mode debuted a trailer featuring Thanos brandishing the Infinity Gauntlet, hinting at a possible bridge to an upcoming Avengers: Endgame mode. This addition aims to compensate for the hero‑less mid‑season update, offering PvP players fresh content during Season 10.5.
