Jeb Burton will run the No. 22 full‐time for RSS Racing in the 2027 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, confirming a new chapter for the longtime NOAPS competitor.
RSS Racing expands with a 2027 lineup
Team owner Ryan Sieg announced the move during a press call on Tuesday, noting the historical resonance of the number 22 for the Burton family. Ward Burton captured all five of his Cup victories driving that car, including the 2001 Southern 500 and the 2002 Daytona 500.
Burton’s track record and 2024 context
Jeb Burton has finished over 200 NOAPS starts, earning back‑to‑back Talladega wins in 2021 with Kaulig Racing and again in 2023 for Jordan Anderson Racing. He also notches a Truck Series victory and has 34 Cup starts under his belt. Since 2021 he has raced full time for the secondary level, placing tenth in his inaugural season with Kaulig before joining Jordan Anderson’s No. 27 in 2022.
Team depth and future prospects
RSS Racing currently fields the No. 39 and No. 28 on a full‑time basis, piloted by brothers Ryan and Kyle Sieg, while a third entry sees rotating drivers. The squad secured a win at Daytona earlier this year and at Sonoma in 2023 with Aric Almirola behind the wheel.
With the addition of Burton, RSS Racing’s 2027 campaign is positioned to build on recent performance gains and to reignite the legacy associated with the No. 22.
