Sprint Rain Disrupts Saturday’s Start
Rain‑delayed sprint forces shift to Singapore Grand Prix qualifying.
A downpour struck Marina Bay Street Circuit roughly 15 minutes before the sprint was meant to begin, forcing organizers to pause the event for a half‑hour to clear standing water.
Race Outcome
The sprint was further lengthened by five laps behind the safety car after George Russell’s collision and incidents involving Lance Stroll, Franco Colapinto and Isack Hadjar.
Max Verstappen emerged victorious, with Lewis Hamilton finishing second and Charles Leclerc third, as the chequered flag flew at 6:16 pm local time.
Qualifying Delay
Qualifying was due to start at 9 pm local (2 pm UK) but sporting regulations require at least a three‑hour gap after the sprint’s finish.
The FIA will soon publish an updated timetable for the delayed session.
