Nintendo has applied the registration of a new patent in the intellectual property offices of Japan. In this case, it is a touch pen capable of engaging in the Joy-Con, the controls attached to the Nintendo Switch chassis through rails.
According to the graphic material attached to the patent, this touch pen would be included inside the Joy-Con Strab (the straps with two additional buttons that are included in each Nintendo Switch unit), so that these new straps would have a space hollow designed to accommodate the pencil when not in use. The tip of the touch pen, as its name indicates, would be sensitive to touch on the console screen, which would allow drawing or drawing actions in games that require it. Pressing a button would change the thickness of the stroke.
On the other hand, another application of the patent would be related to the vibration of the control at specific times, but its operation is not determined.
No related official announcement: it's just a patent registration

Said pencil cannot be attached to the console in any way; neither by magnet nor insert in the chassis of the machine, as it happened in the whole family of Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS consoles.
