The Witcher of Netflix: Nightmare of the Wolf will star Vesemir

Geralt de Rivia's mentor will take the reins of the story, as shown in the official synopsis of the film.

That the sorcerer will not return until 2021 is a decision that Netflix has already made public. After the premiere of the first season, the new episodes will be delayed for a while, with the aim of capturing all the ideas correctly. That does not mean that the universe of The Witcher is not seen on the platform before that date. It is confirmed that the company prepares an anime movie, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, which according to its synopsis, will feature Vesemir as the main character.

"Long before being Geralt's mentor, Vesemir begins his own path as a sorcerer after the mysterious Declan claims him through the Law of Surprise," reads the text. Without further information, it is clear that the first steps of Vesemir, a character who has appeared in the games, but who has not yet debuted in the television series, will be narrated. In fact, there is an online stream that advocates that Mark Hamill, the actor who plays Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, is responsible for bringing the character to life.

The production is in charge of Lauren S. Hissrich, showrunner of the Netflix series. Next to her will also be the screenwriter Beau de Mayo, while Studio Mir, responsible for the anime Legend of Korra, will be responsible for moving the characters to their animated version. At the moment no production trailer has been shared.

The sorcerer's weapons

You can't kill monsters with a poor quality sword. Nor with the skills of a normal man. The work of sorcerers is to eliminate the evil creatures that swarm the world. That is why the swords that soften are so important. Henry Cavill, the actor who plays Geralt de Rivia in fiction, has appeared in an official Netflix video in which he shows all the ins and outs of his weapons, his usefulness and the particularities of design.

The Witcher of Netflix is not based on games, but on novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski. The author has collaborated as a consultant, although in his own words, he has not become too involved.
